We keep this simple: we collect the minimum we need to run the tool, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your scripts for anything except showing them back to you.

What we collect

Account info. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you provide it, your name. We use this to create and manage your account.

Payment info. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe — we never see or store it. We can see your subscription status (active, trialing, canceled) and billing history.

The content you submit. Video links you paste, transcripts we generate, product details you enter (including photos of product labels you upload), and the rewritten scripts we produce. We save your last 10 transcripts and rewrites to your account so you can come back to them. Older items are deleted as new ones replace them.

Usage data. We track how many transcripts and rewrites you run (to enforce plan limits) and your IP address (to prevent abuse of the free tool). We use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic — this is aggregate usage data (like page views and which features are used), never your scripts, links, or account content.

How we use it

• To run the product: fetch transcripts, generate rewrites, save your script history, enforce plan limits
• To bill you, if you subscribe
• To respond when you email us
• To understand overall usage so we can improve the tool

That's it. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising.

Who processes your data

Running Scripts From Clips involves a few service providers, each of which handles data only as needed to provide their service to us:

• Clerk — authentication and account management (your email, name, subscription status)
• Stripe — payment processing (your payment details)
• Vercel — hosting and anonymized site analytics
• Google Analytics — site traffic and feature-usage analytics
• Upstash — usage counters for plan limits
• ScrapeCreators — fetches the public transcript/captions for video links you submit
• Anthropic — the AI that rewrites scripts processes the transcript and product details you provide. By default, Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.

Video links you submit refer to publicly available videos; we fetch only the public captions/transcript for the link you provide.

How long we keep it

• Your saved scripts: last 10 items, rolling — older ones are deleted automatically
• Your account info: as long as your account exists
• If you delete your account, we delete your account data and saved scripts. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required for tax and accounting purposes.

To delete your account, email us at hello@scriptsfromclips.com and we'll take care of it.

How we protect it

All connections to Scripts From Clips are encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in is handled by Clerk with secure session management, and payment details go directly to Stripe without touching our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold small on purpose.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including California and the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of any sale of personal information (we don't sell it, so there's nothing to opt out of). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@scriptsfromclips.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Children

Scripts From Clips is not intended for anyone under 18 (TikTok Shop's affiliate program requires users to be 18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Cookies

We use the cookies necessary for sign-in to work (via Clerk). We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own analytics cookies to understand site traffic and feature usage, alongside our cookieless Vercel Web Analytics. We don't run ad trackers.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it on the site or email account holders. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
